Get Rid of Sex Drive Killers

Libido is like an extreme roller coaster ride. One minute it's soaring high above the sky; another minute it plunges down to the depths of the earth. If you're experiencing low sex drive lately, be aware that this can affect your relationship greatly. Sex is an important part of any marriage or mature relationship so you need to determine what's causing you to say no to sex.

Stress
Some people have the knack of getting so many things done with grace, even when put under pressure. However, stress is known to be effective in pulling down your sex drive. Stress can be caused by job, financial woes, caring for sick family, noise pollution, and so on. It's vital to keep your stress levels down so you'll find more time to engage in pleasurable sex. Sex is also a good stress reliever so it can work both ways.

Relationship Problems
When there are problems within a relationship, one of the things that can easily suffer is the sexual aspect. Women especially are very emotional and they deem emotional closeness as a precursor to physical intimacy. It's very uncommon for women to engage in sex if they feel bad about something. Arguments, poor communication, trust betrayal, and so on can kill a woman's sex drive instantly.

Alcohol
Contrary to popular belief, alcohol doesn't always put you in the mood for sex. Yes, it can remove your inhibitions and make you more receptive to sex, but it can also numb your sex drive. Same goes for recreational drugs as well. See to it that you drink moderately and skip drugs altogether.

Poor Sleep Quality
Lack of sleep can affect your sex drive because this causes fatigue and exhaustion. When you're already too tired and you haven't slept a wink, it's understandable that not only would you be cranky all day, you'll also not find the energy to feel sexy. It's important to get ample sleep at night and to visit the doctor if you suspect that you have any sleeping difficulty such as insomnia or sleep apnea.

Parenting
Becoming a parent is one of the best joys in life. However, this too can put a toll in your sexual relationship if you're not able to manage your time well. Parenting can exhaust all your energies and you would find sex more of a chore than something you love to do. To avoid this scenario, hire a baby sitter from time to time to nurture intimate moments with your better half.

Medication
Certain medications have been associated to libido loss and these include antidepressants, blood pressure medicine, antihistamines, oral contraceptives, chemotherapy, anti-HIV drugs, finasteride and synthetic progesterone-medroxyprogesterone. If you're taking any of these drugs and you experience a negative shift in your sex drive, ask your doctor for an equally effective alternative that doesn't have this kind of side effect. Don't stop taking the medication without first talking to your doctor about it.
