Keep Your Skin Protected From the Sun
You need avoid the sun from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The harmful UV rays are at its peak during these times. UV rays can cause damage to your skin and cause you to age faster. Long exposure during these times is also known to cause skin cancer. You need to wear sunscreen when out in the sun. Apply a generous amount of sunscreen 30 minutes before going out and reapply every two hours. Aside from wearing protective sunscreen, wearing protective clothing is also needed.
Treat Skin Gently
When in the shower, allow soap to stay on your skin for at least 20 seconds. This will allow proper elimination of dirt and excess oil making your skin clean. Furthermore, you need to avoid using harsh soaps, avoid over-scrubbing skin, and use moisturizer regularly to keep skin supple and smooth. You also need to avoid using too much makeup because it will irritate the skin and make it acne-prone.
It is known that eating healthy foods will make the skin healthier. Nutrients taken internally will help repair damaged cells and develop new ones necessary for healthier skin. Vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin E and Zinc are essential for healthy skin development.
Do Not Smoke
Smoking narrows the blood vessels decreasing blood flow to the skin. Decreased blood flow to the skin will deplete the nutrients making the skin dry and dull. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin. Collagen and Elastin are needed for skin strength and elasticity. Decreased skin strength and elasticity will make skin more prone to wrinkles.
Avoid and Manage Stress
Stress will make the skin look older and it triggers acne breakouts. Find time to attend stress management problems or be more aware of your reaction towards stress.
Drink Lots of Water
Drinking lots of water is something people take for granted. Water rehydrates the skin making it healthy. When you sweat or work out, you lose fluids in your body. Replenishing lost fluids through drinking enough water will make skin healthier.
Have Enough Sleep
Sleep is the body’s natural process of restoring and healing tired and damage cells. When you get enough sleep, damaged skin cells will have enough time to repair themselves. The body will also have enough time to generate new cells.
Have a Regular Physical Activity
Exercise and workout promote good circulation. It allows oxygen to circulate the body including the skin. Oxygen is needed for a healthy skin because it supplies nutrients and allows regeneration of skin cells.
