Stress can do a lot of damage to your body. It can cause high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. It also releases toxins that weaken the immune system, making the body more susceptible to viral and bacterial illnesses. But these are not all.

Surprising as it may sound, stress also has a grave effect on a person’s dental health. Aside from giving you a headache, anxiety attack, and other health problems, it can also lead to deteriorated teeth and gums.

• Poor Oral Hygiene – When you’re under a lot of stress, you’re likely to neglect oral hygienic habits like brushing and flossing. Bad breath, tooth decay, cavities, plaque and gum disease are just few of the many problems that can arise because of this. • Unhealthy Eating Habits – Stress eating is what some anxious people resort to. By eating foods that are rich in enamel-damaging sugar and acid, they think they are making themselves feel better.
